Description: Under supervision and as members of interdisciplinary teams, Addiction Counselors work with patients under treatment in alcoholism treatment, methadone maintenance, drug-free or harm reduction programs in the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program. The candidate will be responsible for screening and assessing patients in need of addiction or detoxification treatment, interviewing and providing counseling to patients entering CPEP, identifying and isolating specific problems of patients, assisting in obtaining entitlements and referring to appropriate next level of care. The candidate must be able to work in a fast paced setting and possess good writing and verbal skills. They are required to work 5 days a week (inclusive of Saturday or Sunday).
