The Trauma Registrar is responsible for maintaining the efficient and accurate operation of the Trauma Registry for the Trauma Program.
- Ensures compliance with New York State trauma system regulatory requirements and National Trauma Data Bank . Reviews and exports all reportable cases to the New York State Department of Health according to the scheduled calendar for Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP), New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) as well as Registry Import Module (RIM mapping)
- Identifies trauma patients and inputs all required data points (per the National Trauma Data Bank Data Elements and TQIP) into the Trauma Registry; maintains exclusion report for NYS to be submitted quarterly with cases
- Ensures that 80% of such trauma cases are entered into the Trauma Registry within 60 days of discharge a minimum of 80% of the time
- Ensures the consistency and quality of the data collection
